Our Story: A New Beginning, Woven by Hand
A New Beginning
A few years ago, my life was turned upside down. After losing my job in a corporate world that no longer felt right, I suddenly found myself a single mother, facing an uncertain future.
Feeling a little lost, I decided to travel to Morocco, a country whose colors and warmth had always called to me, searching for inspiration and a fresh start. There, far from the noise of the city, in a small village, I met a group of women artisans. I watched them weave straw baskets with precise, graceful movements, skills inherited from their mothers and grandmothers.
Woven with Hope
Watching them work, I saw more than just a craft. I saw strength, resilience, and a community of women who, like me, were fighting with grace and determination to build a future for their families.
That day, a simple straw basket became a symbol of hope for me. It was proof that you could create something beautiful and lasting with your own hands, at your own pace. The idea was born right there, in that moment: what if I could share this beauty? What if, by helping these women share their work with the world, I could also rebuild my own life and provide a future for my child?
More Than Just a Basket
Straw Baskets by Mina wasn't born from a business plan, but from an act of survival and a human connection.
Your incredible response to our baskets validated that dream. This success belongs to you as much as it does to me and our artisans. It has allowed us to continue supporting these communities and to discover the other treasures they create: the soft leather babouches they wear, the colorful poufs that brighten their homes, and the warm, handwoven blankets they cherish.
Today, every product we offer is an extension of that story. Our main category will always be the straw basket that started it all, but our success allows us to celebrate and support a wider range of authentic crafts.
Weaving a Connection Together
When you buy one of our creations, you're doing more than just acquiring a beautiful object. You are weaving a thread that connects us all. You are supporting a single mother who started over, and dozens of women artisans who, thanks to you, can continue to make a living from their craft and preserve their heritage.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
With all my gratitude,
Mina,
